HSD, a non-invasive, individualized therapeutic approach that may restore ocular health and potentially recalibrate systemic inflammatory pathways
An Updated Clinical Case Report
A groundbreaking clinical case report paper authored by Dr. Seema Nanda, OD has recently shed light on the promising potential of the Homeopathic Spike Detox (HSD). As part of an ongoing independent clinical trial led by integrative practitioners and researchers, HSD is emerging as a compelling therapeutic tool with far-reaching implications for systemic health.
Here is an excerpt of this recent case report;
Title: Successful Management of Cystoid Macular Edema with Homeopathic Spike Detox Study (HSD)Protocol Author: Seema Nanda, OD – Nanda Dry Eye & Vision Institute, Houston, TX
Abstract Cystoid macular edema (CME) is a common cause of suboptimal visual recovery after cataract surgery, even when the procedure is uncomplicated. This case presents a 70-year-old female who developed CME that persisted for two years after routine phacoemulsification cataract surgery with a posterior chamber intraocular lens (PC-IOL) implantation in her left eye. The patient received two COVID-vaccines prior to the cataract operation. She responded poorly to standard topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and corticosteroids, developed steroid-induced glaucoma and sustained markedly reduced vision. She started the Homeopathic Spike Detox Study (HSD) protocol and within three months the retinal swelling subsided and her vision returned.
An extensive pre- and post-op review of the patient’s vaccine history revealed the following: (1) Fluzone High-Dose QUAD vaccine 12/13/2019, Lot# Uj537ab (2) Fluzone High-Dose QUAD vaccine 10/28/2020, Lot #DF (3) Pfizer C-19 vaccine, 11/2021, Lot# unknown (4) Moderna C-19 vaccine 12/22/2021, Lot #069H21A (Figure 2- How Bad is My Batch) (5) TDAP (Whooping Cough) 11/28/2023, Lot#M7CC (6) TDAP (Whooping Cough) 01/28/2025, Lot#H242K Figure 2: https://knollfrank.github.io/HowBadIsMyBatch/HowBadIsMyBatch.html?batchCode=069H21A
Her macular edema had markedly reduced after completing Protocol A, B, C & D in the first four weeks of treatment (03/31/2025) using the OCT on her left eye. The thickness lessened 80 microns from the initial 501 microns to 421 microns. (Figure 3). Therefore, the patient continued to the second round of the protocol and finished on 04/23/25. Her follow-up appointment on 05/12/2025 noted her macular edema had dramatically decreased down to 283 microns and her best visual acuity improved to 20/30-. She will return in 6 months to reevaluate her retina with the OCT and measure the lasting effects of the protocol.
Dr. Nanda’s research centers on a participant who experienced a measurable reduction in retinal inflammation—confirmed via OCT retinal scans—alongside a restoration of visual acuity. This localized improvement is more than just a win for ocular health; it may signal a broader anti-inflammatory cascade throughout the body.
If HSD truly reduces inflammation at a systemic level, the implications could be profound. Chronic inflammation is a known contributor to a wide range of diseases, and its reduction could support healing across multiple organ systems. Here's how:
Cardiovascular System
Reduced arterial inflammation may lower the risk of atherosclerosis and hypertension.
• Improved endothelial function could enhance circulation and reduce clotting risks.
Neurological System
• Lower neuroinflammation may support cognitive clarity, reduce brain fog, and potentially mitigate symptoms of neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.
• Enhanced neurotransmitter balance could improve mood regulation and sleep quality.
Immune System
• Immune modulation may help recalibrate overactive immune responses, potentially benefiting individuals with autoimmune conditions.
• Reduced cytokine activity could lessen systemic fatigue and improve resilience.
Endocrine System
• Stabilized hormonal signaling may support thyroid function, adrenal balance, and metabolic health.
• Reduced oxidative stress could protect endocrine glands from cellular damage.
Digestive System
Decreased gut inflammation may improve nutrient absorption, reduce bloating, and support microbiome diversity.
• Enhanced mucosal integrity could help prevent leaky gut and related immune responses.
Why This Matters
The HSD protocol’s potential to restore homeostasis—by reducing oxidative stress and modulating immune responses—could mark a paradigm shift in how we approach chronic inflammation. While further research is essential, Dr. Nanda’s case report offers a glimpse into what integrative medicine might achieve when it is paired with rigorous clinical observation.
What’s Next?
As more data emerges from ongoing trials, practitioners and researchers will be watching closely to see whether HSD can consistently deliver systemic benefits. For now, the evidence is encouraging.

You are absolutely amazing hun! All of the hard work you have put into this and how many people you have helped with the protocol. We all truly appreciate it more than you know!
How absolutely AMAZING for this 70-year old woman! So great to see such a good outcome!
The loss of an eye must be one of the most disheartening things someone can go through, especially as a complication of eye surgery! And to improve with such a noninvasive method! All the more stupendous!
